We are currently seeking a dynamic and dedicated Associate Veterinarian to join our family! We have been proudly serving our community for over 20 years. We are a full service animal hospital dedicated to quality medicine and care for cats. This position includes regular day, evening, and week-end shifts. We offer a competitive salary as well as continuing education allowance. There will be eligibility for a $20,000 sign on bonus, depending on a candidates experience level.
The Associate veterinarian is an integral member of the healthcare team and will play a key roll in the growth of the hospital. Duties and responsibilities include:
Work with the managing veterinarian to establish and implement the policies which allow us to provide excellent customer service and patient care.
Responsible for all medical, surgical and dental procedures performed in the hospital.
Are involved in the evaluation of new products, the implementation of new medical procedures and equipment and the development of new business strategies.
Help to supervise the healthcare team and they must be leaders by following hospital policies and creating a positive work environment.
Supervise and work closely with the veterinary technicians to provide excellent patient care. Develop training programs and continuing education to improve their job skills.
Work with the Client Care Team to improve client communication and satisfaction.
Assist in development of and abide by protocols for computer software accessible and cooperative with the staff while maintaining an appropriate professional relationship with them.
Work to understand the financial goals of the hospital by understanding the principles of veterinary hospital economics.
Help the practice owners and management develop strategies to improve the productivity of the productivity goals for the hospital and strive to attain them.
Help develop programs to attract and retain new clients.
Communicate compassionately and effectively with clients. Present all treatment options and help clients make informed decisions based on the medical facts. Alternative treatment plans must be developed in cases with financial constraints. Always be sensitive to the emotional needs of the clients.
Be an ambassador for the hospital. Participate in community activities which involve pets and veterinary medicine.
Be active in professional organizations which promote veterinary medicine.
Qualified candidates will possess:
DVM or VMD degree.
A minimum of three (3) years of practice experience
A current New York license
A deisre to work with clients delivering consistent quality of medical care to our patients.
Refined surgical skills
A proven track record of collaboration and leadership
