Seeking a PT or FT veterinarian to join our five-star-rated, feline-only practice in the beautiful capital region of central Connecticut. If you understand that cats are family members and just want to be handled gently and with respect, we want to hear from you!
Our full-service practice offers opportunities to work in all areas of feline medicine—from behavior and wellness care to complex internal medicine, dentistry, and surgery. Practice owner Letrisa Miller, a former AAFP board member, past president of the International Association of Cat Doctors, and finalist for America’s Favorite Veterinarian, is happy to mentor recent graduates or established veterinarians looking to transition to a more focused practice.
We have ultrasound, digital dental X-rays, a fully equipped laboratory and hospital (including heated kennel, oxygen kennel, etc.), rigid endoscopy, fully stocked pharmacy, and surgical suite with heated operating table. Exams are unrushed to ensure adequate time to fully evaluate each patient, answer client questions, and develop optimal treatment plans that meet the individual needs of each cat and client.
We offer a family friendly practice environment, with 3-to-3.5-day work weeks available and no emergency or on-call duties. Benefits include a competitive salary, friendly work environment, paid time off, major federal holidays, medical, dental, and long-term disability insurance, SIMPLE-IRA with company match, and paid feline CE.
If you’re compassionate, outgoing, upbeat, hardworking, reliable, gentle with cats, able to remain patient with their caregivers, possess a strong attention to detail, and love the challenge of medicine and the opportunity to improve the lives of your patients (and, by extension, their human caregivers), then we want to hear from you!

Connecticut Feline Medicine and Surgery on Facebook
At Connecticut Feline Medicine and Surgery, LLC, we believe in Exceptional Care for Exceptional Cats! Each cat is unique and deserves to be seen as such and to be treated with compassion.
Progressive, evidence based western medicine is offered along with alternative medicine that has evidence of efficacy. Un-rushed "feline friendly" appointments are our goal. We schedule longer appointments than most practices so that we have plenty of time to communicate what is found and recommended as well as have time for clients to ask questions. This also allows cats to have “rests” during the exam so they don’t get too stressed. We believe the core of a cat’s veterinary care is the physical exam. Cats are subtle creatures who do everything they can to hide signs of illness. Because of this, we need to look, listen, touch, and smell. We’ll watch how a cat walks and how it behaves in the exam room. We will look in all cat’s eyes, ears, and mouth. We’ll feel the coat and palpate lymph nodes, kidneys and digestive tract. We’ll listen to the cat’s heart and lungs and carefully assess anything that isn’t perfect. Both of our doctors are fully trained in feline behavior and can offer behavioral... advice to clients.
We feel that we have an obligation to offer the best possible treatment to clients with the optimal treatment plan for the cat, as we are their advocate. We understand, however, that veterinary care is expensive (still a bargain compared to human medical care, though!) and that what is optimal for a cat might not be possible for the client's checkbook. We will thus try to work with clients to find the best level of care that fits within the budget available. Because the costs of running a veterinary practice are considerable and ongoing, we cannot, however, offer discount prices or make payment plans. We do offer Care Credit and CitiHealth financing. We have a commitment to modern, high-quality facilities, equipment, and supplies. For example, the vaccines we use were developed to address the problem of vaccine-related cancers in cats; our in-house laboratory allows us to complete bloodwork —and get answers—within minutes, not days; our state-of-the-art therapy laser promotes accelerated healing and pain relief.
Every aspect of our 3600 sq foot facility was carefully planned to best meet the needs of our feline patients and staff. We even have a dedicated staff break room and a shower. We’re proud of what we’ve created and love to give tours!
