Mitchell Village Animal Hospital in Morehead City, NC is currently seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician and Assistant (2 positions) to join our fast-growing small animal private practice. We are currently a 2-DVM (in the process of hiring another associate) full service private practice offering boarding and grooming services also. We are equipped with a full Idexx diagnostic laboratory, digital radiography, ultrasound, therapeutic laser and state of the art dental, soft tissue and orthopedic surgical instrumentation.

Owned by 2 busy moms, we value a work-life balance. Our doctor hours are 9-1pm and 3-5pm Mon-Fri, closed on weekends (yes!) Our team is made up of 2 registered veterinary technicians, 4 assistants (who can draw blood, run diagnostic tests, take radiographs, perform therapeutic laser treatments), 3 client service coordinators, 2 kennel attendants, 2 groomers and 1 local relief veterinarian.
Specific responsibilities include:
Venipuncture, placing IV catheters, giving IV and IM injections
Intubating and monitoring surgical patients under anesthesia
All aspects of radiology (proper positioning, technique, safety, etc)
Filling prescriptions in accordance with hospital procedures
Assist the veterinarian with appointments when needed
Client communication with regards to surgical/hospital discharges
Overseeing hospitalized patients and reading ICU flow-sheets
The ideal candidate would:
Possess a current veterinary technician license to work in NC (not required but preferred)
Preferably at least 1-2 years experience
Have excellent written and oral communication skills
Is detail oriented and a self starter
Thrive as part of a team
Be interested in long term employment

We are located 15 mins from 2 emergency hospitals and 2.5 hrs from multiple referral facilities including NC State University in Raleigh, NC.
