Emory University's School of Medicine: Division of Animal Resources (DAR) is seeking a Veterinary Technician II to join their Clinical Service team!
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Under general supervision, this position assists the veterinarians and researchers in surgery and radiology, animal care, treatments, and diagnostic and preventative procedures.
Maintains medical records and inventory.
Provides non-surgical technical assistance to researchers as directed.
Assisting with management and maintenance of treatment and triage areas and equipment.
Participating in the weekend and holiday on-call rotation schedule with DAR treatment/triage veterinary staff.
Provide clinical care for animals as needed, and other related duties as assigned.
Employees in this classification may be required to work with, take special precautions against and/or be immunized against hazardous agents.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A high school diploma or equivalent and three years of experience as a veterinary technician,
OR
A high school diploma or equivalent and four years of experience as an animal care technician
OR
Graduation from a two year veterinary technician program and one year of veterinary technician experience.
NOTE: Position tasks are required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location; working remote is not an option. Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
