The Animal Emergency Hospital is a rapidly growing 11 doctor, 24-Hour hospital. Over the past year, our emergency service has grown by 25%, and we are excited to be building out a second hospital location. This growth has been associated with our exceptional reputation with our referring veterinarians and the booming economy in Grand Rapids. Our new hospital, Animal Emergency and Specialty Hospital of Bryon Center, will be opening at the end of 2021. We are recruiting to add ER DVMs for our new location, with the option of working at both hospitals if desired.
We are interested in speaking with experienced ER DVMs, internship trained DVMs, and new grads or GP DVMs who have an interest in emergency medicine. ER Mentorship is available!
Our team morale and employee engagement is unsurpassed, supported by both our staff and doctor retention. Our team members appreciate our focus on prioritizing work-life balance. We have a fun and collaborative team of experienced ER veterinarians to support you!

The veterinary profession isn’t like any other—it’s the only field predicated on the love of a patient who can’t tell you what’s hurting and can only look to you for help. It takes a special kind of person to do that job, or the jobs supporting that job. NVA doesn’t create those special people—we find them, cultivate them, and give them resources and opportunities to do what only they can do. Whether treating patients, managing a pet resort, or serving hospitals from NVA’s Support Center, NVA’s animal professionals are caring people, united by a love of animals. NVA is proud to honor that connection and is committed to serving our team members by providing them with the tools, support, and freedom to be the professionals they’ve always wanted to be.
