New grads...are you struggling with the "to do an internship, or not to do an internship" debate? Look no further! We feel confident we are the perfect marriage of a large/busy hospital that practices progressive medicine, has a large range of surgical and dental capabilities, all the while having a large team of doctors spanning all ages and levels of experience, that prides itself on a collaborative culture, resulting in a fabulous opportunity for case exposure and mentorship. We feel confident that our on-boarding program sets new grads/newer veterinarians up to be amazing colleagues and doctors.
My partner and I both did internships after veterinary school, and look back on those experiences as the cornerstone for our success. As a result, we used to only consider candidates that were internship trained or had been out in practice for several years. However, as our practice has grown and as our doctor team has filled out, in addition to the rising vet school debts that graduates are coming out with, we felt there was a need for job opportunities for new grads where they could be exposed to cases, case loads, and procedures of varying degrees of difficulty, that would be on par with those experienced in the more traditional internship setting, all the while being supported by a large doctor team that welcomes the opportunity to mentor, and most importantly, being paid and treated as an associate as you learn. In today's world where stress on the veterinary profession has reached an all time high, and work life balance has never been more important, being able to gain this type of experience in a clinic that isn't 24 hours/7 days a week, requires no overnights or Sundays, and pays you an appropriate salary, is truly the best of both worlds.
We have had tremendous success in training and molding new grads/newer veterinarians, and are really excited to welcome our next colleague. And while we feel confident in the level of training you will receive, we also feel confident that we offer an unparalleled, family forward culture that will have you bunking the statistics that over 80% of new grads are looking for a new job after year one.
If you are looking for the opportunity to take your training to the next level, but aren't ready to commit a year of your life to the hours and financial constraint of a more traditional internship, we welcome the opportunity to show off our amazing, privately owned practice, and family of doctors and staff, and hopefully you can find the best of both worlds in your first year of practice with us.
We are a large, 10 doctor, progressive veterinary clinic, located in Concord, NC, just 15-20 minutes north of Uptown Charlotte. We are in search of motivated, client forward, part- and/or full-time veterinarians to add to our amazing team. We pride ourselves on offering an unparalleled client experience, and are looking for docs in search of their long-term hospital! We have the benefit of seeing not just GP cases, but also lots of emergency and urgent care cases, on top of a large surgery and dental case load. Our culture is extremely important to us, and continuing education and a willingness to train our awesome staff must be a passion of any potential candidates. We are always looking to add docs who prefer working the late shifts (close at 8:30) and/or come with significant dental/surgical/acupuncture/PT experience.
