Poquoson Veterinary Hospital in Poquoson, Virginia is looking for an Associate Veterinarian to join our team!
Our growing three doctor practice is seeking to add a fourth veterinarian who is hard working, energetic, upbeat, and enjoys interacting with team members and clients. We maintain a family atmosphere & strive to provide exceptional care to our patients & their owners.
Our veterinarians are regularly out of the office by 6/6:30pm on the weekdays, have a lunch block in the middle of the day, and only work every other Saturday. We are a fun-loving group of people who love to collaborate and help each other out. We have a lot of tenure and many staff members have been with us for 10-20 years or more! We see small animal and exotics and have a strong reputation for both.

Poquoson is located in the historical Hampton Roads area of Virginia. Located right off of the Chesapeake Bay and home to about 12,000 residents. Have the best of both worlds, enjoy the laid back fishing town with good eateries and plenty of outdoor/water activities or drive less than an hour to enjoy all the amenities of Virginia Beach.
Busch Gardens and Water Country USA are popular theme parks that are minutes away in the neighboring city of Williamsburg. The area offers many cultural events, festivals, concerts, and community happenings as well as being well represented with churches, shopping areas, restaurants, social organizations, etc. In addition, our area has an active veterinary association and CE opportunities.
Skills and Basic Qualifications
A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree, or equivalent, from an accredited university
Licensure in good standing to practice in the state in which applicant is to be employed
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
A commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine and upholding the veterinary code of ethics
Capable of quality decision making
Demonstrates excellent time and task management
Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation with staff and clients
