Who are we looking for?
This is a full time position and shifts may include a mix of evening and/or weekend coverage.
The ideal candidate will be experienced working in a busy veterinary hospital setting and possess the following skills:
Registered Veterinary Technician with valid license
Bachelor or Associate degree in Animal Sciences, Veterinary Technology or a related field required
Prior veterinary experience required, experience in Surgery or Anesthesia
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as?client service skills and phone etiquette
Develop and manage staff schedules and analyze labor costs
Collaborate with team mentors to ensure proper onboarding of new team members
Ability to inspire, teach, multitask and be a highly functional team member
Self-motivated and able to work successfully autonomously, as well as a team member
Sense of urgency, critical thinking skills and attention to detail
Effective patient restraint
Assist in patient procedures using knowledge of anesthesia and analgesia related protocols and procedures, including formulating anesthetic plans tailored to individual patient needs
Proficient in calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.)
Flexibility with work hours and able to work additional hours when necessary
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Organize, and manage the daily flow of clinical services, as well as prioritize caseload and patient care
Manage appointments: obtain histories, medical record keeping, invoicing, patient discharges, etc.
Ensure documentation is accurate and complete
Work closely with management regarding personnel, staffing or clinical challenges
Participate in HR processes included but not limited to: interviewing and hiring, disciplinary actions, grievances and termination, and conflict management
