1.We understand quality of life is important for keeping our staff healthy and happy. Veterinary medicine is hard work and can be exhausting. We support Not One More Vet. That’s why we offer no weekends, no long evenings or emergency hours and no on call. We do offer four day work weeks, competitive salary, health insurance, generous vacation package, paid holidays and CE package. We are happy to explore other compensation alternatives that may better suit your needs which we will be happy to discuss as our relationship develops.

We also understand you spend a lot of time with your team so we take creating a creative, supportive and friendly environment very seriously.

You’ll have your weekends and nights free to check out our breathtaking Blue Ridge Parkway mountain views, our vibrant downtown and arts district, our mouthwatering locally owned restaurants and our sparkling rivers for white water rafting or kayaking.

2.  We believe in the value of CE and giving you opportunities to grow your skills with us and take on passion projects. You'll see a mix of surgery, dentals and clients but we are looking for someone who likes to do dentals and surgery especially.
3. We provide a strong support staff so you can focus on providing the best medicine and know they are taking care of details for you and utilizing their training and skills to the fullest. We strive to have 3 medical support staff per doctor with 30 minute exams.  

4. We are not a corporate owned practice. We don't do non-compete contracts. We value your input on our team and allow you to practice like you envisioned when you decided to become a veterinarian focusing on the care of your patient rather than meeting production goals. We hold monthly staff meetings and weekly veterinarian meetings to stay connected to you.

5. We are a small animal practice seeing dogs and cats. We have a new ultrasound, dental x-ray, digital x-ray and all the tools you will need to practice quality medicine.
6. We adhere to our guiding principles:

• We believe all pets and their families deserve access to veterinary care and we will give back through giving $1 from every healthy pet exam fee into a special fund our veterinary team can use to help clients and not have to turn patients away simply due to lack of finances. We also partner with our local humane society to help pets in need.
• Every pet in our care will receive our best efforts.
• No pet will be euthanized for economic euthanasia.
• We are committed to helping pets as well as the people who care for them.
• We will assume everyone-clients and staff- are doing their best and give them the benefit of the doubt.
• We will treat each other with compassion and empathy and support one another. 

We are looking for someone with at least one year of clinic and surgical experience to add to our growing team.
