This position has a well-established clientele eager to have a savvy veterinarian provide lameness diagnostics and treatment to their high-level English performance horses. About the Position:
Mainly ambulatory position with a fully stocked vehicle, digital radiography, ultrasound, shockwave, class 4 laser, and regenerative therapy provided
Access to the hospital for referral or haul in appointments as needed or desired
NO ON CALL or emergency coverage required.
Flexible living location - You choose where in the East or Central Valley you would like to live!
Caseload that focuses lameness and sports medicine with some general wellness care
Supported by multiple interns, technicians, an ultrasound specialist, and boarded surgeons
Flexible scheduling including day length and number of days per week

About Us:
Pioneer Equine Hospital has grown to be one of the most recognized practices in the country for equine surgery and lameness, as well as a full-service referral hospital and stallion center. We provide primary and emergency care on both an outpatient and ambulatory basis. We strive to excel in all aspects of equine practice with a focus on client service and exceptional patient care. Our strong culture and motivated staff lead to a cohesive and collaborative team environment. The hospital is extremely well-equipped with the resources to excel in case work-up and diagnosis, including but not limited to a large lameness pad with varied footing, digital radiography, large bore CT, a 1.5 Tesla MRI, endoscopy, and digital ultrasound. The surgical facilities are state of the art, with 2 large surgical suites and 4 induction/recovery stalls.
Our Ideal Candidate:
You are a DVM or VMD with an ability to obtain a California license
The California Board Examination has recently been eliminated – new requirements are NAVLE + a take-home California veterinary law exam
Dedicated to outstanding client service and excellent patient care, you enjoy interacting and building relationships with clientele and coworkers.

Pioneer Equine Hospital opened its doors in 1973, when two veterinarians had a vision to form the premier equine veterinary clinic in the area. Drs. Britton and Black built one of the most recognized equine hospitals in the country for equine surgery and lameness. From those deep roots, Pioneer has grown to become a full service referral hospital. In addition, we provide full service primary care on both an outpatient and ambulatory basis.
