Do you seek a job with true work-life balance, consistent hours and no emergency on-call? Come join our dedicated team, as we transition to our new, 6,000 sq ft facility and feel good about the fact that what we value are the animals you help. Ability to work in a high-volume shelter and community clinic environment. Excellent surgical skills. Exotics experience a bonus. Must be comfortable working in both a clinical and shelter setting. Must be able to function independently and as a team member.
The St. Croix Animal Welfare Center (SCAWC) was founded in 1973. Our mission is to provide and promote the humane treatment of animals through humane education, animal protection, and community service. Our duty is to the orphaned, abused, neglected, and unwanted animals of St. Croix, US Virgin Islands. We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.
The SCAWC is the only open-admission animal shelter on the island of St. Croix. That means we do not turn away any animal in need. Each year, we receive between 2200-2800 homeless dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens. We give each one of them humane care and the best possible chance at a forever home. Our programs also work to combat the root causes of animal overpopulation and to help pets stay in their homes with the families who love them.
Additionally, we have a low-cost, high-volume community clinic that offers affordable veterinary services for pets and their owners, along with care for all of our shelter animals.
