Apply for the two-week (40 hours/week unpaid) ASPCA Spay/Neuter Alliance Veterinary Student Externship, designed to deliver spay/neuter surgical instruction and offer students a behind-the-scenes look into the world of spay/neuter and shelter medicine.
Surgery
Practice surgery on 7 out of the program’s 10 days, with an opportunity to perform up to 25 surgeries in total!
Classroom Instruction
Attend classroom lectures to complement spay/neuter concepts, as well as introduce other relevant animal welfare topics!
Local Shelter Experience
Put your knowledge to work at one or two local area shelters!
